About Your FarmHer

Hi, my name is Kelcie CaMerono Palmer and I am your FarmHER from Maryland.

In 2014, after many years of dreaming, my father fulfilled his aspiration by purchasing a 23-acre farm in West River, Maryland, envisioning it as a family "Cut Your Own Christmas Tree" farm. As a family we ventured into Agriculture with little experience and planted our first Christmas tree in April 2015.

As a single mother raising my daughter on the farm, I knew this was where we were supposed to be, in a lifestyle that felt the most "at home." Although I felt a deep connection to the land, I struggled to find the passion for crop farming that I thought I was supposed to have, leaving me feeling defeated and questioning my role in Agriculture as a whole.

In 2019, I started breeding Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and found the passion I had been searching for. That passion grew stronger, and years later, when I was given the chance to become a rancher by managing livestock, it felt like that piece of my puzzle was put in place as I immersed myself and knew that THIS was my true niche in the Agricultural world. I knew time was all that was needed because this is where I was supposed to be and where I will forever be.

Reflecting on the years that had passed, I realized how much further I could have advanced in career if I had access to the right resources, support, and community tailored to my needs and my way of learning. This realization sparked the idea for The Real FarmHers, which officially launched over a year later, aiming to give Women the tools they need to create a sustainable life that we strive to accomplish, as well as tools that will help in present day with the many challenges we now face as Women in Agriculture. As a Woman in Agriculture, a Millennial Single Mom of two beautiful children in grade school, rocking every day with my ADHD, and everything in between, I am building a Village I know I needed in the beginning years of farming and the Village that I still need to this day.

Let's change the narrative on how we learn in the least restrictive learning environment possible because as a Millennial FarmHer/RancHER, who has time for that?

The Real FarmHers isn't just a name, it's a Movement.
